A tear for Otori Takeo...
One of my fave characters in literature. The Clan of the Otori-Saga by Lian Hearn inspired me for most of my fanfictions. A mixture of Takeo and Kenshin gave me the idea for my protagonist Yamazaki Takeo - also shown in my Gallery. But THIS one should show Takeo as he was meant to be in the books. I love androgyne male characters. So excuse me, when some parts of him remind of a woman...O.o
But today I'm content with most parts of the drawing, especially the hair and the eyes^^.
The architecture of the castle of Hagi in the Background gave me lots of work to do... But it was fun to try this out. I had photographes of japanese castles for help.
I had the idea for this pic when I saw the cover of the italian issue. But my version is a lot different.
I hope you like it somehow^^. It's one of my heart-pieces actually. I love the books...
!!!SPOILER!!! And HOW I cried when Takeo died... So bad...
But I'd like to say the same words for him, as they use for ancient King Arthur:
The once and future king.
He was such a good and kind ruler, strong and full of love for his land, the people and his wife Kaede. !!!SPOILER END!!!
I will never forget him.^^

This is simply amazing. You drew Takeo exactly how I imagined him to be when he grew up being an adult! This is excellent scetch and the Hagi palace behind him is simply detailed and amazing. The shading also is remarkable. I am honestly at loss of words!
